Mrs Rev Annette Haigh & Rev John Filsak

Biographicals:

John worked as a local newspaper journalist at Market Harborough before training for ministry at Manchester. He has served pastorates at Anstey and Groby, Leicestershire (1980-86), Bulwell, Nottingham (1986-2005) and came to Halifax in 2005. He is currently a member of the Halifax Choral Society and captain of the Pendle and Craven Croquet Club.

Annette received a calling to Ministry when she was a teenager and, in pursuing this calling, moved to Bradford from Northamptonshire when she was eighteen to do six months voluntary work with Holme Church. God's journey for was much longer and following having a family, serving as an Elder at Holme for about 15 years entered training in Manchester in 2003 and was ordained into the Halifax Group in September 2007. 

Vision and Hopes:

We believe in the good news of God's love revealed in humanity in Jesus Christ; that this gospel shows God in Jesus living the human life without sin, and that Jesus took the sin of the world upon himself when He was crucified; that He overcame death, sin and sickness and that through His resurrection all who believe in Him may have His life forever.

We want to see our churches developing their confidence in the power of the gospel to change lives and transform the world. This will happen as we keep looking to God to equip us by his Spirit. We pray that the Lord may open up new ways for us to express our faith and to demonstrate the subversive life of the gospel in the world of today.
