About Us

We are a varied company, all at different stages on the journey of faith and believe we are helped by each other, through worship; through sharing our doubts, uncertainties and questions, as well as our hopes and dreams; through our concern for one another and the wider community as witnessed, in part, by this Website.

At present we have one full time minister, Rev John Filsak. Our five churches are within four miles of each other, in and around Halifax. At present, we have around 350 regular worshippers, (members and adherents). Due to our popular youth sections (see individual church homepages), there are many children associated with the churches. As you will see, we work closely with many organisations, including Churches Together (Halifax and North Halifax), the Heath Stroke Club, and our own Halifax URC Charity.

Although worship is at the centre of our life together, you will quickly realise that many activities take place on the church premises. The noticeboards and displays in the churches, corridors and foyers give some indication of the wide range of activities available. There are also quiet rooms which can be used for private prayer when the buildings are open.
